Kerry Brooks began his musical journey at the age of four, when

he started piano lessons. Guitar lessons began at age nine, and he

finally moved to bass at seventeen. While in high school and college,

he played around Charlotte in various blues and rock bands. He attended

college at UNC Charlotte, and soon discovered a love for jazz and

classical music. After switching to primarily playing upright bass, Brooks

graduated Cum Laude with a degree in music education in 2000.

Since graduation, he has worked as a professional bassist in the

area. He has played on numerous recordings, performed and

jammed with many world class musicians, and has made several

television, print, and radio appearances. He continues to explore

and play a wide range of musical styles.
